Registration
The first step in the application process for Police Officer is to submit a Preliminary Information Form. This form will be approved or disapproved and notification will be sent back to the applicant by email. If approved, the applicant can then register online for one of the scheduled Police Officer testing days. Please carefully review requirements before completing preliminary form or registration form. After registering for an exam day, a confirmation letter will be mailed by the City of Irving Strategic Resources and Budget Department to applicants about one month prior to the testing day. To be guaranteed admittance to the exam, this confirmation letter must be signed by the applicant and returned to the City of Irving Strategic Resources and Budget Department by the designated due date. Walk-ins on the exam date are allowed based on test availability.
The police civil service exam and physical fitness test are generally conducted on the same scheduled testing day.
